Westside Pavillion, Westwood and UCLA Medical Center by Big Blue Bus

While driving a Prius in the carpool lane might be at the height of fashion for the eco set, increased ridership on the humble bus is a populist solution which deserves more attention.
UCLA, UCLA Medical Center and Westwood from Pico-Robertson takes about 30 minutes without traffic on the Big Blue Bus. A day pass costs $2.50.
The Big Blue Bus RAPID 7 runs every 15 minutes from the corner of Pico and Robertson. Take it to the Westside Pavillion where you transfer to the Big Blue Bus 12. You’ll need to cross the street to the corner where the Nordstrom’s is.
(Alternately, you can catch the Big Blue Bus #12 on the corner of Pico and Shernandoah, and take it all the way to UCLA Medical Center. It will meander through Palms first though).
I save an hour commute to UCLA Medical Center. I don’t miss the $8 parking fee, the hunt for parking once I’ve paid it, or the long walk from that parking space.
